Guttering, fascias, soffits and cladding

Gutters that overflow, fascias that have rotted and soffits that have come loose. We replace the lot in low-maintenance uPVC, fix the timber behind it properly, and make sure the water ends up in the downpipe rather than down your wall.

What we fit and repair

Most roofline jobs are done in a day or two from a scaffold or tower:

  • New uPVC fascias and soffits, with ventilated soffits where the loft needs air
  • New gutters and downpipes, in black, white, brown or anthracite
  • Gutter repairs: realigning sagging runs, resealing joints and replacing brackets
  • Rotten rafter feet and timber behind the fascia replaced before anything is boarded over
  • Eaves protection trays so the bottom of the felt does not rot behind the gutter
  • PVC cladding to gables, dormers and porches

We do not cap over rot

Capping is a thin uPVC sheet fixed over the old timber fascia. It is cheaper and quicker, and it hides rotten wood that keeps rotting behind it. We take the old boards off, look at what is behind them, repair the rafter ends if they need it, and fit new boards to sound timber. The quote says which you are getting.

Why gutters overflow

Usually one of three things: the gutter is blocked, it has dropped so the water runs the wrong way, or it is too small for the roof above it, which is common where an extension has added roof area to an old gutter. We find out which before pricing, because replacing a perfectly good gutter that only needed clearing helps nobody.

Questions

How long do uPVC fascias last?

Fitted to sound timber, decades. They do not need painting, just an occasional wash.

Can you match my existing gutters?

Usually. The common profiles and colours are all still made, and where an old profile is not, we replace the run so it matches end to end.

Do you clear gutters?

Yes, as part of a roof job or a maintenance visit.
